Welcome to NŨR AI Quran! These Terms of Service govern your use of our mobile application. By using our app, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Quran Majeed with NŨR AI mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Content Sources & Attributions

Our app provides access to authentic Islamic content from trusted open sources. We are committed to transparency about our content sources:

📖 Quran Text & Translations

The authentic Quran text and translations are sourced from Quran.com via their open API. We are grateful for their commitment to making the Quran accessible worldwide.

📚 Hadith Collections

Hadith collections (including Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, and others) are sourced from Sunnah.com. We acknowledge their excellent work in preserving and sharing authentic hadith literature.

📋 Islamic Topics & Additional Content

Most of the Islamic topics, categorized verses, and additional reference materials are sourced from qul.tarteel.ai open database. We appreciate their efforts in organizing Quranic knowledge by themes.

AI Features: The AI-powered semantic search, voice search, and verse summary features are developed in-house by our team. These features use advanced AI generative models to provide intelligent search and contextual explanations.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Types

Guest Mode: You can use most features without creating an account. Data stored locally on your device only.
Google Sign-In: Optional account creation to sync data across devices and restore purchases.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Google account credentials.
You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized account access.

4. Subscription Terms & Purchases

4.1 Free Tier

Access to all Quran reading features, translations, tafsirs, and Islamic tools.
AI Features: Limited to 5 queries per month (semantic search, voice search, verse summaries).

4.2 AI Plus Subscription

Unlimited AI queries (semantic search, voice search, verse summaries).
Subscription pricing and billing managed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

4.3 Payments & Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We do not have access to your payment information.
Refund requests must be submitted through the App Store or Google Play Store according to their policies.
We do not control or process refunds directly.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You may NOT:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
Attempt to bypass AI usage limits or subscription restrictions.
Use the App to distribute malicious software or engage in harmful activities.
Scrape, copy, or redistribute our content without permission.
Misuse AI features for purposes other than personal Islamic study.
Use the App in any way that violates Islamic principles or laws.

6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Important Religious Disclaimer:

The AI-powered features (semantic search, voice search, and verse summaries) are designed to assist with Quranic study and understanding. However:

NOT a Substitute for Scholars: AI-generated content is for educational purposes only and should not replace consultation with qualified Islamic scholars.
Accuracy Not Guaranteed: While we strive for accuracy, AI may occasionally provide incomplete or inaccurate information.
Verify Important Matters: Always verify religious matters with knowledgeable Islamic authorities, especially for fiqh (jurisprudence) and aqeedah (creed) questions.
No Religious Authority: We do not claim religious authority. The App is a tool for learning, not a source of religious rulings (fatawa).

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Ownership

The App design, branding, logo, and user interface are owned by us and protected by copyright laws.
AI search algorithms and in-house developed features are our proprietary technology.

7.2 Third-Party Content

Quran text, translations, hadith, and Islamic topics belong to their respective sources (Quran.com, Sunnah.com, qul.tarteel.ai).
We use this content under the terms of their open licenses and APIs.

7.3 User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of your personal notes and bookmarks created within the App.
We do not claim ownership of your personal data or user-generated content.

8. Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following third-party services:

Firebase (Google): Authentication and cloud sync
AI Services: AI-powered search and summaries using generative AI models
RevenueCat: Subscription and purchase management
Cloud Storage: Hosting for databases and audio files

Use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their availability or performance.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
We are not liable for any damages resulting from your use of the App.
We are not responsible for AI-generated content errors or misunderstandings.
We are not liable for data loss, device damage, or service interruptions.
Total liability is limited to the amount you paid for subscriptions in the last 12 months.

Religious Content Limitation: We make no guarantees about the religious accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content for your specific circumstances. Consult qualified scholars for authoritative guidance.

10. Termination

10.1 By You

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device.
To delete cloud-synced data, sign out and contact us to request account deletion.

10.2 By Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, including:

Misuse of AI features or attempting to bypass usage limits
Reverse engineering or unauthorized data extraction
Any behavior that violates our Acceptable Use Policy

11. Content Concerns & Reporting

Found an Issue with Content?

We take content accuracy seriously. If you notice any of the following, please contact us:

Errors in Quran text or translations
Inaccurate or misleading AI-generated content
Problems with hadith authenticity or classification
Concerns about Islamic topics or categorizations
Copyright or attribution issues

12. Updates & Modifications

We may update the App from time to time to:

Add new features or content
Fix bugs and improve performance

Updates are delivered through the App Store or Google Play Store. Some updates may be mandatory for continued use.

13. Privacy & Data Protection

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.

Key points:

We collect minimal data necessary for app functionality
Guest Mode keeps data local to your device
Cloud sync requires Google sign-in and is optional
We comply with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy laws

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in accordance with U.S. law.

15. Children's Use

The App is designed for users of all ages, including children learning about the Quran.

Children under 13 should use the App under parental supervision.
We comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act).
Parents should use Guest Mode for children to prevent cloud sync.
No advertising or external links are present in the App.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the App. They supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
